Technical Support

Transport Sanitari de Catalunya-Grup Condal have a fleet of 432 vehicles available, supported by a corresponding service of communication GSM/GPRS and implemented mapping.

Technology

Transport Sanitari de Catalunya has chosen to work with the newest technologies. This can be seen in the single coordinating centre where classical systems have been changed to include the following improvements: data entry by voice, one simple application to register information and an analog trunking system of tele-communication. The new system can be summarized using the following points:

A new and robust computing system allows for better management of services and resources to ensure compliance with the Organic Law for Data Protection (la Ley Orgánica de Protección de Datos LOPD). By improving management of services and not depending solely on the regional knowledge of our coordinators, both services and ambulances can be found on a map. We have the necessary map data loaded into our management systems in such a way that, once a service is selected, we can accurately locate it on the map. Additionally there is, within the communications kit the ambulances, an incorporated GPS system which sends us its position. Also the status and availability of the ambulance is accessible to us through an application in the management system's software.
The system also allows data to be sent to the ambulances to allow for a quicker, more efficient service in matters such as the reading of medical cards.
